Going Paleo

With much interest, I was made aware of a less well-known method of food preparation and dietary format called "The Paleo Diet". From what I have gathered, this is right up my alley. I do not subscribe to dieting for the sake of consuming less and less calories, as I have found that there are usually nutitional consequences, for me at least, because of the way I drive myself at work. So, I try not use or consume processed foods, and try to keep the preservatives at bay, and no artificial sweeteners, or refined foods like white flour (try and get away from that, yeah, right!). I like to eat fresh, almost raw crisp vegetables, and fresh meat and fruit. The reason I am so bad at it, is because I LOATH going to the grocery store several times a week. There is my fail point.
However, the Paleo diet seems to manage things, by eating the way I like, but it also focuses on balancing the body's PH, or acid/alkaline ratios which, we are told, prevents weakening of the bone, by demineralization (due to consumption of hight acid foods).
To point now, Kibbe and her niece are going Paleo on the first of the year, I think I will tag along.
Today I am going to locate the cookbook and more info to read up on.
One of the things I like the most is the seasonings used, lovely stuff like flaxseed oil and lemon juice, fresh herbs and olive oil, and garlic.  Did you know that the juice of 1/2 a lemon in four ounces of room temperature water, consumed every morning will do away with the possibility of getting gallstones?? It will.
The things I do know, and do believe I can achieve all line up with the things offered in this eating plan. Since the girls are going to go with it, I think I will go along. I lost 40 pounds on Quick weight loss, and I liked the supplements (vitamins and herbs) but the eating plan was way too limited and I eventually call QWL "death by chicken" . it took me almost two years, but yes, I have gained most of the weight back. I feel bad physically too. I have quite a road ahead of me with the new salon, so I need to get to "fighting weight"  Today I will go get the book, and the cookbook, get my flaxseed oil, fresh whole garlic, herbs and goodies, and get rid of anything processed , preserved and refined that I have on hand. BUmmer, that is some mighty fine blackberry jam!

I'm not knocking them, I just ALWAYS wind up losing 15 pounds then getting sick with weakened immune system, I catch whatever bug comes in the salon!
