Vet's office today

Lewi went to see his vet, the fabulous Dr Barton. I expressed my concerns for Lewi and asked him what he thought. I asked him how long Lewi could live on high doses of steroids before the kidney failure started. He said sometimes as short as a couple of years,  some dogs tolerate it for their lifetime. SOOO.. Lewi got shaved down and bathed, all the bad flakey skin will go away. Problem is now his fur is so scant, that he will need sun block and  something to keep the mosquitoes off him. he is naked, I can see his freckles . He will be on a much higher dose of Prednisone for at least three weeks. He was also given a drug similar to the antidepressants humans take, to balance his brain chemistry, and his chemical response to anxiety.  Lewi has been granted another reprieve........
BTW, He was "medicated" for his grooming, he was stoned off his nut! Happy, funny, wagging all the way. They said he was no problem. go figure, my dog is a stoner!!
