This year the "hair show" let me down. The artists, and their models all seemed to be reaching for some bizarre vision, using feathers, flowers, and creating weird ribbons and shapes out of lacquered hair. In a word, RIDICULOUS
the show floor was almost like a flea market of crap from useless to absurdly useless with the heavy hitters mixed through out. I saw some peacock colored, freakishly high Mohawks (a style I thought had perished, except for eight year olds on summer break). I saw three of these, which kind of appealed to me, well leopards are.... cool!
There was a whole separate area for non-hair beauty ... weight loss, health and skin care, including the newest in eyelash extensions (please!)
I was all in there , because I want to move into permanent makeup, and was looking at the minuscule offerings. But I learned enough to shop for the features I want, so OK, I'm ready.
I ran across a "Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM, an herbalist, if you prefer. She had big pots of remedy soups, and a great book with recipes. I was all in the metabolic boost soup, (made from butternut squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, garlic, onion, and Astralagus, and some chinese herbs! It was SOOOO good! Thick and creamy, sweetish, and yummy. I kept asking for more! she handed it out, and told me "your body craves what it NEEDS!!"
I said Oh! really????? yes said "ABSOLUTELY!"
So WHAT... ( i ask sweetly),.... is the deal with cheesecake!????" She had no answer.
I bought the book, and I am told the herbs are available at any Chinese grocery. There is one near here. The book has photos of each herb, which makes me happy. Now I am more certain they won't sell me weeds from the back door and laugh til they pee after I leave!

Ridiculous is right. Good grief. I'm never going to complain about my hair again. Just saying.
Have a terrific day. :)
i agree...some of that does sound kinda ridiculous! BUT the herbal book and recipes, and the permanent makeup stuff...sounds pretty cool and makes up for the ridiculous!! :)
First place goes to Joanne of Another Day in Paradise with:
AAA warns, to prevent the danger of blowout, please keep air pressure at the manufacturers recommended level!
