I didn't realize so much time had passed since my last post!!
The Fourth was "as usual" for me, by dark I was back home soothing the frazzled nerves of my dogs, who though they were being shot at. But the morning started off as a real hoot. yeah, sure. I was at the salon, mopping the floor, then I came home and chilled for a few hours before going to Jody's birthday pool party, which was SOOOOOO nice.
Today brought news I don't know if I can blame Obama for, but I wonder.
You see a friend of mine who has been sponsored in this country (for seven years) just got married and has jumped through all the hoops, and applied for a work permit, as the first step to gaining her citizenship. Submitted the package, with her medical records, work history, and money orders for each department (this process includes paying an attorney , of course) Her application has been denied, she doesn't know why yet, but got the news right here at our independence day celebration weekend. I feel for her. She is sponsored by an employer, who is basically treating her like an indentured servant . She had hopes of being able to get her green card and move forward, but all her and her (citizen)husband's plans are back on hold, waiting to find out what hoops they must jump through now.
Mind you she has been working sixty hours a week for SEVEN years for her "sponsor", and for the meantime she will continue to make money for these people(she works on commission), but not able to go forward in becoming a citizen. She is a quite lovely English girl, and I feel for her. She is anxious to start her married life, and make plans for a future. She must wait a while longer. Why is it so hard for those who do things RIGHT????

In our area there are thousands and thousands of illegal aliens. They just want amnesty. They are waiting. So, they cross the border and just wait for amnesty. I'm so sorry for your friend.
Have a terrific day. :)
