Moving on....

I have been busy lately. This is the thought that got the ball rolling... "people are going to have to be more conservative in their spending" I figured that if we (my salon) hit the market at just the right time, we could get a hunk of folks moving down from high-end pricey salons, and earn their business with good prices and experienced stylists. I have been working on this for a month or two in a local, low-key way.
I had a brainstorm, which was delivered by a client who came in and said, "here, I made this for you."
It was mailing lables for the ENTIRE neighborhood!! There are 1500 peel and stick addresses !! I ordered holiday postcards from a do it yourself online printing company..... how do you like them???

I just noticed that card is not the final draft, but close, anyway, you get the idea...
We put six hundred out of a thousand in the mail between Friday and Tuesday. On Monday night I was watching the news when our mayor (not my pal) came on and was telling everyone to "BUY LOCALLY" to support the businesses in your community!! Can you believe it!? Almost like she was telling everyone to use the postcards I had sent out!!
The end (or beginning) of this story is that today, the first business day after the mailing, we had FOUR calls on the postcards. Everyone who called booked an appointment, and the two ladies I did both said they were very happy, and would be back.

AND... My sweet Jorge bought fresh hot pies for Jody and I! He is such a darling (and will smile when he reads this!)
