What did I do this weekend??

It was blissfully cool here this weekend. Everyone was afraid it would be cold . I had recently decided that if we had any more cool weekends, that I WAS going to my favorite remote primitive campspot, The Du Puis Management Area

I loaded up my little truck, and determined to set off in the morning. Then all of a sudden, I just could not wait. I took of... got gas and a bad of ice, and hauled bootae. I got there just past dark. I started my fire, off loaded my gear and blew up my airbed and slept in the back of my truck.

The night sky was awesome, I could see every star in the sky, like Bee can on those cruise ships! It was chilly and clear, perfect! This is what I woke up to in the morning........

Thanks God, I needed that! the very NEXT thing I needed was COFFEE and I needed it NOW!!! so off I trot to the little grocery about five miles away with my shopping list and wearing my jammies. I don't care, cause I don't live there, and I'm camping, I am allowed to be scruffy! I got my stuff ,Had breakfast and coffee and crawled right back in my little nest and continued to chill literally and figuratively. I finally got my camp set up

I had a lovely dinner in the cooler, T-bone, baked apples, fresh asparagus, and 'taters, YUM! I love nature, and I love being in this remote environment... BUT! there was a little gator there who just stayed right around my camp. I think Mini knew that he was looking at her to, cause she spent most of her time (as usual) in the tent I guess if I was tiny ,and this ol bugger was staring at me all day, I would stay out of sight too!

PS he was just a baby

(about five foot tip to tip)

I had plenty of firewood and kept the fire going, which helped, and besides, I love to sit by my campfire

But the big surprise of the trip was this... NEW CRAPPERS!!!

WOO-HOO!

Old crapper ................................ new crapper!!

here are a few more shots of the campground, I had fun, came home stinky and tired.

Just so ya know, DuPuis is a primitive campground. That means no electricity, no running water, (which means no shower). But the best part is that outside the camp host, I was the only camper there!!
