HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Out with the OLD!!

I am making a confession ( it's no surprise to those who know me) ....
I AM A PACK RAT......
I decided I needed to do a thorough housecleaning for the "new" year.
I realized I was dusting the frame on a flea market quality painting of a horse that I have had since I was in my mid TWENTIES!! (56 is coming up fast)
I climbed down off my stool and went outside for the BIG trashcan. In my house, that is a sign that I cant stand myself anymore. So far the can is twice full, and emptied in the BIGGER can outside. You might be saying "Go Girl!" and "good for you". Yes, thank you, I am on a roll.
The really sad part of this confession is this....... That's out of ONE room. AND there is still a lot of crap in there!
I watch animal planet A LOT, and I watch "Animal Cops" almost every night. I see them going into "animal hoarder" houses where there is crap stacked up to eye level, and a pathway through the middle. I get nervous when I see them (could I wind up like that?Please God, watch out for me!)My previous post will clue you to the fact I have too many critters. Now you know I have to much crap, too. Like I said, a confession ,haha.
I threw out a Costco porcelain doll, whose dress was dingy and her hair was dusty ( I am 55, why do I have a doll??)not to mention stuffed animals that I always keep because they remind me that the guy at the fair could not guess my age (not even close).... gone also, endless amount of crap that I will NEVER fix, sew, glue, give away, or take to goodwill.... GONE!
This is liberating... I love it! look at the room I will have! Maybe I will be able to see the baseboards. I tossed out at least three almost empty shampoo bottles, not little ones,32 oz'ers. Do you think I am going to stand there for 20 minutes to get that last shampoo out of there.... I don't either.... OUT! be gone!
Well, I have rested a few and gotten the dust out of my nose, so I will attack my past again, wish me luck!
I seem to be doing pretty good with "out with the old";
I just hope I will be able to avoid .... "in with the new"
PS.. NO, I did nto throw out my horse painting, it has not begun to disintegrate yet
