It makes you wonder about homeland security

Well, I have done and said a lot in my day, but today I am scratching my head and wondering.... what the f***. We have one of those rental houses on our street, the kind with 10 cars and half of them with invalid registration, people coming and going all hours of the day and night, and a LOT of unhappy neighbors. This morning the schoolbus got stuck trying to make the corner because of the cars parked all the way around the corner, and the bus just could not get the turn made, so bus driver called the cops. I am on the board of the neighborhood assn., so I went out to see what the yelling (7:30 am) was about. people started jumping and moving from the house and cars were flying around. When the police got there, they found two or more cars with no valid registration, and told the people to clean up their act. The code inspector came later on, and an officer came to check VIN on unregistered car in street (no tag)

HERE IS MY POINT.... I wrote a letter to the home and asked them to please try to appease their neighbors by limiting their overnight guests and slowing them down on the street and try to keep the parking at or near their house. AS I DELIVERED the letter, I see in a giant pot right next to the front door... A FIVE FOOT TALL POT PLANT!!!!!! My question is this, if the police and code enforcement have been there at least four times in two days, how did not one of them notice this big-ass pot plant just waving in the breeze???!! I'm saying four different PAID law enforcement officials did not see a pot plant in front of their faces. I have been pretty much laughing my butt off all day about it, especially since the premise for the cars given to the police was "we are having Bible study" Well, the end result is that a whole 'nother department is is watching them now. " observe and forget" or "serve and protect".... we'll see
